Serving God in Prague in 2009

“He said to them,
"Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
- Mark 16:15

Dear friends and family,

Happy Spring time! Around the world the Lord is at work changing people's hearts and bringing them into a loving relationship with Him. Would you please consider joining with me as a partner in the Lord's work to support missions in Prague, Czech Republic?
Last November I became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church (BBC) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Through my church I have been offered an opportunity to teach English in Prague beginning in July, 2009. I will work with The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) and a family from my church that has been in the Czech Republic for 13 years and has helped start three churches there.

I will serve at a church in Prague’s Skalka neighborhood that has a large English language outreach program. Right now there are 105 students in 11 classes. Each class includes one and a half hours of English instruction and half an hour of Bible study.

As a teacher I hope to help spread the Gospel of the new life that comes from a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. This joyful news will be especially sweet to the Czech people whose religious freedom was suppressed under communism until 1989. The C.B. Skalka Church is the only church available to the 22,000 residents of the Skalka neighborhood.
Would you please consider being a partner with me in this mission? I need support in prayer and finances. I have been working part time to save money for this journey and taking Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Masters classes to prepare. But, in order to go to Prague I need to raise $14,000 by the end of June, 2009. This amount includes living expenses at $30.00 per day for one year, orientation, and health insurance. I would really appreciate any gift that you feel led to offer. Right now I especially need supporters who are willing to contribute on a monthly basis.
Thank you for considering being part of this ministry!
I hope that things are going well for you. Please let me know how I can be in prayer for you. Also, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
In His grace,
Kate Aubrecht

God is good and prayer is powerful

Thank you again so much to those who have been praying for my mother during her recent surgery for cancer and her time of recovery.

God hears our prayers!

The Lord says “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” -Matthew 18:19-20

Amen!

After being present for the miracle of how the Lord healed my mom's visible cancerous tumors, my faith has been renewed that our God cares about every detail of our lives, that He is very involved in every aspect of our lives and that He cares about us very much. It is so exciting that the Lord was pleased to answer our prayers heal my mom for His glory.

Just because the circumstances seem confusing or difficult does not change His love for us. I hope that we can "pray continually (and) give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." -1 Thessalonians 5:17-18

Once I heard that God has three answers for prayers: "yes," "no" and "not yet." It can be difficult to wait for the Lord's perfect timing, but "... we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
-Romans 8:28

Let's continue to come before the Lord in prayer knowing that He loves us, hears us and answers us!

Thank you!

Just wanted to say "thank you!" and "praise the Lord!"

Through your generosity and the Lord's provision I have reached over half of my $14,000 financial support raising goal.

Hallelujah.

I look forward to seeing how the Lord will continue to provide in the upcoming months for the glory of His name.

"The one who calls you is faithful, and he will continue to be faithful."
-1 Thessalonians 5:24

Visa

In January I submitted my application for a short term "Visa for other purposes" to the Czech Embassy. I have been informed that the approval process can take up to four months.

When I called the Czech embassy recently I was told that my Visa has been received and is being processed. Good news!

Now I am just waiting for the final decision from the Czech government. Will you please join me in prayer that the Czech government would grant my Visa so that I can go to Prague to teach English?

Dobruška Language Camp

Every year the Czech government hosts a language camp in the Czech town of Dobruška. The camp includes one month of intensive Czech language learning and various cultural experiences. Non-Czech citizens who are interested in learning the Czech language are encouraged to apply. The government provides full sponsorship for all of the campers who are accepted.

It would be such a blessing for me to be selected to participate in this camp so that my Czech fluency will increase and so that I can glorify the Lord through conversations in the Czech language during my year of teaching in Prague.

Will you please pray with me that the Lord will be pleased to allow me to participate in the Dobruška camp this August?

Thank you!

Reasons to praise the Lord!

Philippians 4:19
"And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus."

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my mother. The Lord has been so merciful to allow her to come through her third surgery for her cancer successfully. Our God is so faithful to answer prayers. It seems that the Lord was pleased to take all of the visible cancer away.

Praise the Lord!

This is a miracle considering that the doctor had told us that there were many “rice sized” tumors in her stomach that she would not be able to remove. But, after the doctor had removed the larger tumors, she looked around and was not able to find any more tumors. Hooray!

We are hopeful that the shots that my mom has been getting to keep the cancer small will continue to work. Also, we are grateful that she has recovered from her nausea, has been discharged from the hospital and is able to rest at home now. The Lord is good!

Thank you again for how you have blessed our family with your prayers.

Psalm 136:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever.
